Q2: I have some Panasonic P-2 MXF files where I dragged over the card contents (with the correct file structure and LAST CLIP file). I need to transcode P-2 MXF file to MOV.
A: FCPX says they have native support for MXF files, but sometime you may still fail to import some MXF or P2 MXF files into it. So you need to convert or rewrap MXF to ProRes MOV or QuickTime MOV.
Here ProRes MOV is recommended for ProRes is the native codec. What's more, Aunsoft TransMXF Pro for Mac can preserve audio tracks when you transcoding P2 MXF to ProRes 422 or ProRes 4444. For instance, if you have Panasonic VX200 shoot 4 tracks of audio and you must keep those audio discrete, the P2 MXF to ProRes MOV conversion will maintaining original audio tracks in P2 MXF.
